My Favorite Pecan Pie

Texas Pecan Pie recipe at Palestine Texas Pecans

This recipe has been used by my family for more than 30 years.  I serve it often since I have the availability of fresh pecans.  People who have never been fans of Pecan Pie love it.  Hope you love it too.

1/4 Cup Butter
4 Eggs
7/8 Cup Sugar
1 Cup of Broken Pecans
1 Tbsp. Flour
1 Tsp. Vanilla
1 1/2 Cups Karo Syrup
Large Unbaked Pastry Shell
Pinch of Salt

Cream butter in a medium sized pan. Add sugar and flour gradually and cream until fluffy. Add syrup. Beat well.
Add salt and eggs, one at a time. Beat thoroughly.
Add broken pecans and vanilla.
Warm this mixture just a little on low heat. (This is a trick my Mother-in-Law taught me. It gets the pie started cooking so that it sets up before the pie crust gets too brown.)

Bake at 350° about 50 minutes or until set.
